Hydrocyclone cluster is composed of two or more hydrocyclones, in series or parallel. When the treating capacity and classification degree of a signal cyclone cannot meet the requirement of technics, a hydrocyclone cluster can be applied. A hydrocyclone cluster is widely used classification, dehydration, desliming, concentration, tailing damming and wet desulphurization of power plant.
Hydrocyclones in the cyclone cluster shares one underflow box and overflow box. The hydrocyclone liners can be different according to different medium: high-wear-resistant rubber, high-wear-resistant composite material and high aluminum ceramics.
Hydrocylone is one effective measure for increasing the grinding fineness and treating capacity of grinding mills, which is widely used in the processes of classification, desliming and dereagent in mines. Based on experience, classification effect of hydrocyclones with smaller diameter are better, consequently, for huge-scale mines which need fine classification, a combination of several signal hydrocyclones in series or parallel is preferred.

Hydrocyclone cluster is a common classification equipment whose working principal is centrifugal sedimentation. After the mixed liquid to be classified is pressed into the equipment, a 3-D rotary shear flow is formed. As the granularity are different between coarse particles and fine particles, most of the coarse particles will spin down to the bottom and flow out through the sand setting opening, while fine particles flows up and be discharged through the overflow pipe.
