In May 2023, a set of forward-direction overflow components (including two rubber front liners) was trialed on Pump No. 1. The first front liner was removed after 989 hours of operation, and the trial concluded on July 23, with the full set achieving a total service life of 1,729 hours—exceeding the expected lifespan of 1,500 hours by 15%.

Naipu’s rubber front liners demonstrated a longer lifespan compared to Weir’s. As Naipu’s overflow components met the mine’s operational requirements, the customer decided to award Naipu fixed supply contracts for Pump No. 1 (forward-direction) and Pump No. 5 (reverse-direction).

To ensure operational continuity, Naipu implemented an inventory strategy by stocking 650-series overflow components at its Santiago, Chile warehouse, guaranteeing a lead time of 2–3 weeks. To date, Naipu has supplied over 20 sets of 650 overflow components.
